After growing up in Birmingham, I moved to Cornwall in search of a simpler, slower way of life. Although eager to breath the sea in deeply, I specifically moved for university; to study sustainability and climate science; environmental politics, alternative lifestyles and the relationship between nature and culture.

What fascinated me was the way we live and the ideas that inform the way we live. Mythology, in particular, interested me; in telling stories that illustrate how we understand the world and our place within it. It’s this storytelling-notion that’s at the heart of all the work I do.

Once graduated I relocated further out into the sticks and began my own storytelling. This first took the form of a blog – this blog to be exact – titled On Serpentine Shores, as I documented my new life on the Lizard peninsula.

Oh I love this! Someone after my own heart.
We currently live in the city (after I was brought up in a small town) and hate it. Hopefully by the end of the year we'll be in a little detached house in the middle of nowhere growing our own etc.
