My room is currently being redecorated. It’s a loft room, so walls are being taken down, insulation is being put in and new cupboards are being made in the empty wall space. When all that’s sorted I’ll be able to paint it some shade of off-white. And I’m hoping when it’s finally all done I can show you. But right now everything I own has been pushed into one corner of my room and covered with dust sheets. I was out the house when this was done and so returned to discover that not only did I not know where my chargers, underwear and toiletries were. But that once I located them it was quite possible they’d be inaccessible.

At the moment my bed is my point of sanity. Admittedly I’ve found a way to manage – like living out of a suitcase, but more like living out of a series of plastic bags. Everything feels rather suspended and in-limbo. My space in the house has been reduced from the four corners of my room, to the four corners of my bed. And although I never thought I was a super-tidy-things-have-to-be-a-set-way kinda person, I did like the little system I had going on. Now I’m just trying to pride myself on how productive I’m being when my bedroom, office and general living space has been turned into a chaotic no-mans land of nails, paint and power-tools.

Naturally with every bright, dry day I’ve been getting out the house. Nipping to the beach – to Kynance and Gunwalloe – to “make the most” of the light. This week I also had the pleasure of finally meeting Sian Anna Lewis, catching up with Jessica Cece, taking portraits with Ben Mostyn as well as having a brunch-fueled bloggers meet with the other Kernow bloggers.

Alongside these trips to Truro and Falmouth, I’ve been working on my photography site. It’d mean so much to me if you gave this a little look over. I’m rather chuffed with myself for having gotten a handle on Squarespace, although I should say Anna‘s given me a huge helping hand with it (not to mention a hell of a lot of patience) without her this would’ve taken me much much longer!

So if you happen to know of anyone looking for family portraits or a wedding photographer, please do send them in my direction! I’m currently offering introductory rates as I build up my portfolio. But as I presently have very few bookings, I can be super flexible and am the perfect solution for any couples looking for a last-minute photographer – I know in Cornwall these things get booked up years in advance!

Anyway apologies for the spam! I’ll try to keep that to a minimum on here. But please feel free to comment below and let me know what you think of my new site and “business” as a whole. I’m pretty new to all this and really open to any advice, tips or thoughts on how I can improve. ^_^

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with the renovations going on in your room – I feel for you as I've been through a few of those too. Courage, it will be worth it in the end!

Your photography skills are pretty amazing, so I think you have yourself a pretty great business there! As it happens, my whole childhood room has just been completely re-done & I´m loving it a lot! It´s been red and orange for long enough, now off-white is just the perfect colour. Luckily, I was in my own apartment and far away when all of this happened, haha.
